How It Works

The SAWS System was designed to warn motorist of slower traffic entering or exiting the roadway in areas in and around road construction, manufacturing plants, emergency vehicle stations, etc. It is proven that motorists become accustomed to traditional signage and non-triggered flashing beacons reducing their effectiveness. The SAWS System is an Actuated Sign System that consists of a sensor that detect slower vehicles attempting to enter or exit the roadway, which then send an encrypted RF signal to the flashing sign upstream from the dangerous condition, prompting a response from motorists allowing for the safe entrance or exit of slow-moving vehicles into or out of the traffic stream. Thus, the motorists only see the lights flashing when there is a danger present, creating the most reliable warning system available for slow moving vehicles entering or exiting the roadway.
